CPR level A

We offer stand-alone basic CPR courses in Nanaimo for participants that are looking to learn CPR and AED rescue techniques for adult victims. This course takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete and provides successful participants with a wallet sized workplace approved certificate that is valid for 3 years. This course does not  include any first aid training or certification and primarily focuses on CPR and AED usage. Disease Prevention - Putting on Gloves with CPR level A

Participants enrolled in CPR training in Nanaimo will learn about disease prevention which involves taking the proper precautions prior to helping.

Certification

Participants that complete this course will receive a St Mark James CPR level “A” certificate that meets workplace and academic requirements. This award is valid for 3 years throughout Canada.

Course Content of CPR level A

Participants enrolled in this basic CPR course in Nanaimo will learn the following:

  • The Rescuer’s Role
  • Nanaimo First Aid Check, Call and Care Program
  • H.A.IN.E.S. (High Arm in Endagered Spine) Recovery Position
  • Choking Management in Adult Victims
  • Assisting with Medications (5 Rights of Medication)
  • Recognizing and Managing Circulatory and Breathing Emergencies including: Angina and Heart Attack and Stroke
  •  CPR for Adult Victims
  • Deadly Bleeding

Transfers and Refunds

Transfers and refunds are not accepted within 72 hours of the course. Prior to this time registered participants can receive a full refund.

Course Length

This basic CPR course takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete. Participants must attend 100% of the course and complete a multiple choice test with a minimum score of 75% to complete the course.
