Participants that need to be certified for work in the childcare / daycare industry are required to take emergency childcare first aid courses. This course includes certification in CPR level “B” and in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED). Participants that successfully complete this course receive an award that is valid for 3 years and meets workplace requirements for childcare workers. Preparing a Tube Sling for Multiple Fractured Arm in Emergency Childcare First Aid

Participants enrolled in emergency first aid courses in Nanaimo will learn various wound care management techniques.

CPR Included

This course must include certification in CPR level “B”. Participants can not select any other CPR level to partner with this course. AED training is also included in the course.

Course Content

Participants that enrol in this class will learn about the following:

  • How to respond to and prepare for emergencies
  • The EMS / 9-1-1 System
  • Nanaimo First Aid Check- Call-Care System
  • Recognizing and managing emergencies involving circulatory and respiratory issues
  • Skeletal injuries including head and spinal injuries
  • Muscle and joint injuries
  • Sudden medical emergencies
  • Environmental emergencies
  • Preventing, recognizing and managing poisonings
  • How to keep children safe

Certification for Emergency Childcare First Aid

Participants that successfully complete this course will receive a workplace approved certification card that states completion of emergency first aid Course, CPR level “B” and training in the use of AED’s. Participants may also receive a wall-mount certificate upon request.

The cost of this course is 93.99. workplace approved course manual, certification fees and applicable taxes are included in the price.
